OLD TOWN, Maine – Oct. 22, 2013 – Are you a good listener? Are you able to hear stories of grief and pain? Do you want to be part of bringing about truth, healing and change?
Maine-Wabnaki REACH is calling for volunteers to step forward to be statement gatherers for the Maine Wabanaki-State Child Welfare Truth & Reconciliation Commission.
Upcoming trainings are being held in Sipayik, on Tue., Oct. 29, and Wed., Nov 6, from noon to 4 p.m., and at the University of Southern Maine – Portland Campus, Wed., Nov. 13.
According to REACH, there is a great need for both Wabanaki and non Wabanaki people to be trained to gather statements when the TRC starts its investigation in Sipyaik in November.
